Overview

Vee-Jay Cement Contracting Company Inc. is seeking a Yard Helper for evening shifts in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role involves assisting with the loading and unloading of materials, delivering them to job sites, and managing inventory levels within the yard while adhering to safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle shipping and receiving of products efficiently and safely
  • Deliver materials to specific job sites, including possible out-of-town travel
  • Accept load sheets and coordinate with the Yard Supervisor for proper trailer and tractor usage
  • Load required items according to the pick ticket
  • Communicate load capacity issues to dispatch and report any changes
  • Transport finished goods to designated locations and stack safely using a forklift
  • Inform dispatch or mechanics of any equipment defects affecting transportation
  • Maintain organized yard inventory and report low stock to management
  • Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow safety rules and procedures in all employment duties
