Job Description

Overview

The Guidance Center is seeking a Therapist specializing in at-risk youth to provide evidence-based therapy through the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) model. This role is suitable for both new and experienced clinicians who are interested in a community-based, family-focused approach to support youth and prevent juvenile delinquency.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide MST to youth ages 12-17 who engage in challenging behaviors
  • Engage with families to empower caregivers and facilitate behavior change
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for caregiver support
  • Deliver therapy in home and community settings
  • Travel throughout the day to meet youth at home and school
  • Contribute to reducing criminal activity and undesirable behaviors

Required skills

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology
  • License eligible in Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, TLLP, LLP)
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care
  • Crisis intervention skills
  • Familiarity with family therapy and behavioral modification techniques
  • Ability to work flexible hours and potentially on a non-traditional schedule
