Job Description

Overview

JCP Enterprise, LLC is seeking dedicated Surgical First Assistants in the Richmond, VA area to support critical surgical procedures. Candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical suites under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Surgical Technologist.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of the operating room, including gathering necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Help transport patients to and from the operating room.
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment, including cleaning and restocking rooms between cases.
  • Support the surgical team by performing tasks such as holding retractors, providing suction, and handling specimens as directed.
  • Adhere to all sterile techniques, safety protocols, and hospital policies.

Required skills

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 2 years of experience in a surgical setting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move patients, and handle medical equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care
