Position: Sr. Testing Consultant (Ref: 18573)Location: Salem, OR USA, 97301Salary: DOEDuration: 10 Months 25 Days - ContractOpenings: 1Deadline: 08/10/2026Description: Location: Remote (US-Based) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PST (40 hours/week)We are seeking an experienced Senior Testing Consultant to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in testing design, test execution, defect evaluation, and QA process improvement. In this role, you will provide advanced testing support, guidance, and expertise to a major state health agency transition project.You will support both Agile and traditional delivery teams by designing, executing, and validating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure systems meet strict requirements and deliver expected business value.Key Responsibilities Requirements Analysis: Review and analyze project requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness, and testability. Maintain and update the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). Test Design & Execution: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive test plans, scenarios, test cases, and test suites outlining scope, schedule, resources, and risks. Execute manual UAT test cases, log results, and validate functional and non-functional requirements. Defect & Triage Management: Log defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and expected behavior. Participate in defect triage discussions to assess priority, severity, and business impact; conduct retesting to confirm resolution. Integration & Regression Testing: Conduct integration testing across systems, services, and interfaces. Perform regression testing to validate system stability and verify fixes. Quality Assurance Leadership: Define testing approaches, entry/exit criteria, quality gates, and release-level test strategies. Escalate quality risks, environment issues, and blockers with clear recommendations. Stakeholder & Team Support: Provide UAT guidance to business SMEs and testers during testing cycles. Prepare test data, contribute to training/best practices documentation, and provide daily/weekly metrics and status reports to stakeholders. Agile Participation: Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies (planning, refinement, standups, demos, retrospectives) and contribute to release readiness/go-no-go assessments.Qualifications & Experience Core QA Experience: Strong background leading QA/UAT activities for complex, cross-functional projects. Demonstrated experience creating test strategies, test plans, RTMs, test cases, defect reports, and release readiness documentation. Tool & Process Proficiency: Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (such as Azure DevOps or Jira), SDLC, and Agile methodologies. Technical Breadth: Solid understanding of integration testing, accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), security testing fundamentals, and performance considerations. Automation Awareness: Familiarity with test automation concepts (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework) to identify automation candidates and collaborate with automation engineers on regression coverage. Domain Knowledge: Experience in a public sector, state agency, or highly regulated health/human services environment is strongly preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge unclear requirements, advocate for quality, and work independently with minimal direction.Working Conditions & Requirements Remote Setup: 100% remote position.
