Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Site Foreperson/Superintendent to oversee activities related to the construction of highways, pipelines, and other projects. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, possess strong communication skills, and have experience leading teams in a construction environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Plan construction procedures based on specifications, timelines, and staffing requirements
  • Assemble and direct project teams at the start of projects
  • Order procurement of tools and materials for work schedules
  • Direct and confer with supervisory personnel and subcontractors
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
  • Prepare reports on project progress, materials used, and costs
  • Direct workers on major maintenance or reconditioning projects

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Experience operating heavy equipment like milling machines and paving machines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and priority setting skills
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to meet physical requirements and use appropriate PPE
  • Supervisory experience
  • OSHA or relevant safety certificates
  • Experience in heavy civil and highway construction
