Senior Tax Planning SpecialistHantz Group is a Michigan-based financial company that works with individuals and businesses to help them achieve their financial goals. Our philosophy at Hantz Group is that Tax Planning is a proactive process that requires monitoring our clients tax situation throughout the year to deliver tax projections before preparation of their final tax return. As a Tax Planning Specialist, you will work as part of a team with Financial Advisors to develop financial strategies and reduce individual client's tax liability. In addition to completing tax analysis and preparing returns you'll collaborate with the other specialists to find opportunities for your clients.Essential Job Functions:Analyze Tax LiabilityPrepare Tax ProjectionsPrepare and file Tax ReturnsPrepare and deliver presentations to clients and prospective clientsDevelop and maintain client baseMarket and sell appropriate tax plansAttend meetings and continuing education sessionsTake a holistic approach with a team of financial professionals to service clientsComply with all industry rules and regulationsRepresent clients in front of the IRS and state revenue departmentsAll other task assignedEducation/Knowledge & Skills:Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, stringent deadlines, and multiple clientsStrong sense of professional and personal accountabilityBasic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applicationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field1-year relevant experience preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individualsEnrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant license preferredMust possess or be able to obtain Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)Strong written and verbal communication skillsHighly motivated and a self-starterStrong leadership qualities, work ethic and an entrepreneurial spiritExperience with CCH Axcess Software preferredThe Company does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, height, weight, disability, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
