Job Description

Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide quality support to production operations in the automotive industry, focusing on maintaining product integrity and driving quality improvements to achieve zero defects. This role involves leading product development activities, managing quality processes, and supervising quality technicians, all while ensuring exceptional customer service and product performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead product development and launch activities including design and review meetings
  • Manage processes and system quality requirements for new product development
  • Supervise quality technicians and auditors
  • Develop Process Control plans and focus on cycle time improvements
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement training for mistake-proofing
  • Spearhead Continuous Improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Degree in Engineering or similar discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Quality role in the automotive industry
  • Proficient with automotive Quality tools such as QS-9000, TS-16949, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA
  • Experience with Problem Solving methodologies like 5 Why and 8-D
  • Knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection techniques, and supplier relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and typical QA software
