Overview

The Senior Concrete Engineer at American Engineering Testing Inc is a technical leader responsible for overseeing multiple concrete engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. This role involves direct client interaction, mentorship of junior staff, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement in engineering practices and client deliverables.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute multiple concrete engineering projects
  • Develop project scopes, testing protocols, and recommendations for complex concrete applications
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Perform in-depth analyses of concrete properties
  • Design and evaluate high-performance concrete mixes
  • Lead forensic investigations of concrete failures
  • Review and approve technical reports and design documents
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients
  • Deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to proposals
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Lead internal training sessions on advanced concrete engineering topics
  • Review and validate the work of less experienced staff
  • Identify and implement process improvements in engineering workflows
  • Integrate emerging technologies into project workflows
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Promote a proactive safety culture in all project planning and execution

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in concrete engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Advanced proficiency with concrete design software and modeling tools
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale concrete engineering projects
  • Advanced analytical skills for evaluating material behavior
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge materials and techniques
