Overview

The Safety Director at E-Z Bel Construction is responsible for leading the company's comprehensive safety strategy within the civil construction sector. This role involves establishing and evolving safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety excellence across all operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a company-wide safety strategy.
  • Establish and evolve safety programs and systems for risk reduction and compliance.
  • Provide data-driven insights on safety performance to executive leadership.
  • Ensure organization-wide compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Design and implement risk management frameworks to mitigate hazards.
  • Direct incident investigations and establish root-cause analysis standards.
  • Build and develop a high-performing safety team.
  • Define and drive a comprehensive safety training strategy.
  • Partner with leadership and project teams to integrate safety into project planning.
  • Serve as the primary representative for external safety interactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety performance.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction departments on safety compliance.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of construction safety experience, with leadership in heavy civil construction.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety performance indicators.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to build and manage high-performing safety teams.
  • Experience in designing safety training and workforce development programs.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills and influencing executive leadership.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
