Job Description

Overview

The Program Director for Surgical Technology & Surgical First Assistant Programs at Chattanooga College is responsible for providing academic leadership and instructional oversight to ensure student success, workforce readiness, and programmatic accreditation. This role involves the development and implementation of curriculum aligned with CAAHEP and ARC/STSA standards, while also focusing on student support and managing partnerships within the clinical community.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership and oversight for Surgical Technology and Surgical First Assistant programs
  • Lead program development in alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards
  • Oversee curriculum design, course sequencing, and instructional delivery
  • Establish clinical affiliation agreements with hospitals and surgical practices
  • Support students' academic and clinical performance
  • Prepare students for national certification exams
  • Lead accreditation activities and maintain compliance
  • Collaborate with surgeons and clinical staff to enhance training quality

Required skills
