Job Description

Overview

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift at Carl Buddig & Company is responsible for overseeing production and packaging operations while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role calls for an individual who can lead a team of 20 to 50 employees, manage training, maintain a safe working environment, and address any production issues that arise.

Key responsibilities

  • Directly supervise 20 - 50 employees in production and packaging departments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and produce a safe quality product.
  • Report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Establish employee relations and motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • Control employee hours and manage overtime.
  • Train and maintain an effectively trained workforce.
  • Interpret company policies to workers.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods and quality.
  • Analyze and assist with production and packaging problems.
  • Maintain process control paperwork in accordance with HACCP.
  • Ensure sanitary and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate activities with other Supervisors and Leads.
  • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures and follow GMPs.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a production supervisor role.
  • Experience in the food industry and packaging cooked products is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
