Overview

Zaden Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Windows Systems Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise Windows infrastructure and Azure Virtual Desktop environments. The role will involve supporting DevSecOps initiatives, ensuring secure and efficient system operations for defense and space systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
  • Administer and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across enterprise domains
  • Conduct security and vulnerability scanning and remediate identified vulnerabilities
  • Manage Windows Update deployment strategies including WSUS administration
  • Oversee Linux virtual machine environments within hybrid infrastructure
  • Design and troubleshoot complex networking configurations
  • Architect and maintain Azure infrastructure components
  • Lead STIG compliance efforts across Windows and Linux systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system administrators
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate infrastructure-as-code practices

Required skills

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Windows system administration
  • Advanced expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop deployment and management
  • Proficiency in Group Policy creation and management
  • Experience with security and vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7)
  • Experience managing Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Administering Linux virtual machines (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Solid understanding of Azure cloud services and infrastructure management
  • Hands-on experience implementing and validating STIG compliance
