Overview

Ensemble Health Partners is looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join their team at Bon Secours - Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. This entry-level role involves performing admitting duties for patients and ensuring regulatory compliance while providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services
  • Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity checks
  • Collect insurance information and process physician orders
  • Operate the telephone switchboard for incoming and outgoing calls
  • Conduct audits of patient accounts and ensure compliance with audit standards
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits through inbound and outbound calling
  • Explain patient consent forms and collect necessary signatures
  • Review insurance verification responses and enter benefit data
  • Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice software
