Job Description

Overview

The Part-Time Maintenance Technician at Horizon Management Services will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of residential properties in Janesville, Wisconsin. This role requires the technician to perform various maintenance tasks, including repairs and preventative maintenance, with on-call responsibilities every other week.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
  • Diagnose and repair issues in apartments and common areas promptly
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment
  • Collaborate with contractors to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Implement and follow a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with local building codes and safety regulations
  • Participate in safety training and meetings as required

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in apartment maintenance or building maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Availability for on-call and emergency maintenance duties
