Job Description

Overview

Zen Educate is seeking passionate Paraprofessionals to support students with special educational needs, including mild to severe challenges. The role emphasizes behavioral support, classroom assistance, and effective communication with teachers and parents to foster a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement and follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) or Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers to maintain an inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and staff to provide consistent support
  • Assist with personal care or hygiene needs, including toileting and feeding
  • Take notes and record data on student progress

Required skills

  • Experience managing and de-escalating severe behavioral challenges
  • ABA training or at least 10 months of behavior tech/interventionist experience
  • RBT certification
  • Supportive experience with individuals with Special Educational Needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain calm and patient demeanor in challenging situations
  • English proficiency
  • U.S. work authorization
  • Physical ability to assist students and move around the classroom
