Overview

The Nursing Lecturer Pool at San Jose State University is seeking part-time faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses in a dynamic educational environment. The Valley Foundation School of Nursing emphasizes clinical simulation and community-based nursing education, preparing students for diverse healthcare needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate (BSN, RN-BSN) and graduate (MS and/or DNP) nursing courses
  • Utilize classroom, online, and clinical teaching methods
  • Maintain clinical expertise and participate in evidence-based practice
  • Advise students and foster team collaboration
  • Organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Adopt inclusive teaching strategies for diverse student populations

Required skills

  • Master's degree in nursing or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience providing direct patient care
  • Possession of or eligibility for RN licensure in California
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of nursing subject matter and adult learning evaluation
  • Sensitivity to multicultural education and diverse student needs
