Overview

VCU Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Clinician to join their new 24-bed Intermediate and Acute Care unit focusing on Liver Transplant and Transplant Hepatology patients. This role involves providing advanced clinical expertise, leading quality initiatives, and supporting professional development in a specialized and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for complex patients
  • Serve as a clinical leader, educator, and mentor for nursing staff
  • Lead program development, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote exceptional patient outcomes
  • Support evidence-based practice, staff development, and resource management

Required skills

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • 5 years nursing experience required
  • Minimum of one year experience in specialty patient population or practice setting
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Enrollment in a Master's degree program required
  • Experience in staff education and professional development preferred
