Overview

1st Signature Lending is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor to join their team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves processing, reviewing, and preparing loan documentation for compliance and accuracy, focusing on various types of loans including Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA. Key responsibilities

  • Process and deliver loan applications for underwriting review and approval
  • Communicate effectively with borrowers, loan officers, and compliance personnel
  • Maintain knowledge of agency guidelines and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform quality assurance checks prior to loan closings
  • Prepare and submit loan file packages to underwriting in a timely manner
  • Follow up on post-close trailing documents as necessary
  • Identify and address any issues within loan files prior to approval or closing

Required skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in mortgage banking
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending processes including closing, funding, and post-closing
  • Ability to evaluate documentation related to mortgage applications
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF/document retention programs
  • Experience with Encompass preferred
  • Compliance knowledge including TILA, RESPA, ECOA, TRID
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
