Overview

The Molecular Diagnostics Lab Manager at VCU Health is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, including personnel management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and financial management. This role requires a strong leader to manage a team while ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to healthcare standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and direct laboratory personnel
  • Oversee daily operations and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
  • Analyze operational performance metrics for improvements
  • Collaborate with pathology and other clinical teams
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities including budget preparation
  • Promote positive guest relations and customer service
  • Lead training and competency maintenance for lab staff
  • Coordinate billing compliance and CPT code selection

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a laboratory setting
