Job Description

Overview

Oncodea is looking for a Molecular Diagnostics Associate to contribute to their mission of accessible early cancer detection. The role involves working with leadership and utilizing skills in molecular diagnostics and data analysis to support the development of their proprietary cancer detection platform and clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with molecular pattern analysis on human biospecimens using a nanophotonic detection platform.
  • Maintain the clinical sample database and support sample accessioning and tracking.
  • Process biospecimens ensuring compliance with IRB and HIPAA requirements.
  • Handle general lab operations including ordering, inventory, and safety management.
  • Draft SOPs for molecular biology and analytical workflows.
  • Maintain detailed lab notebooks and electronic records.
  • Perform molecular pattern acquisition and quality control.
  • Support clinical study execution and lab setup.
  • Conduct basic RNA and protein analysis.
  • Execute bioinformatics and data-science tasks such as data inspection and analysis scripts.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in academic research labs or biotech
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Python and/or R for data handling
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques
  • Comfort in BSL-2 or clean-room environments
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
