Job Description

Overview

The Medical Technologist PRN at Overland Park Regional Medical Center is responsible for conducting routine and complex laboratory tests to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role is integral to delivering quality patient care in various lab sections, including toxicology, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.
  • Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology.
  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, calibrating equipment, and verifying equipment function through routine maintenance.
  • Monitor quality control measures and protocols.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related science
  • CLIA 88 MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification, or registry/certification eligibility
  • Experience preferred in a clinical laboratory setting
