Job Description

Overview

The Medical Technologist at Centerpoint Medical Center will conduct routine and complex laboratory tests in various fields such as toxicology, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role is integral to providing high-quality patient care and requires dedication to maintaining accurate procedures and results.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections
  • Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology
  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls and calibrating equipment
  • Verify equipment function through routine maintenance and monitor quality control measures and protocols

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related science
  • Certification as a medical technologist by CLIA 88 MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP), or equivalent
  • Experience in laboratory testing preferred
