Overview

CMC Rescue Inc is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their mission of saving lives through innovative design solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical design experience and a passion for continuous improvement, leading product development efforts for life safety equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, model, and document components and complex mechanisms using SolidWorks.
  • Lead product development cycles from concept through prototyping, testing, and production release.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications suitable for production.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to ensure safety and compliance of designs.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to ensure product reliability and safety.
  • Develop and evaluate prototypes, implementing iterative design improvements.
  • Manage design documentation and project data.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for existing products.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
  • 5-7 years of professional mechanical design experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including complex assemblies and simulation tools
  • Experience designing mechanical assemblies and transitioning designs to prototypes
  • Knowledge of materials and processes for rope rescue hardware
  • Strong understanding of DFM principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on engineering capability
  • Familiarity with industrial laboratory equipment
