Job Description

Overview

As a Meat Cutter at Market District, you will be responsible for ensuring guests receive high-quality meat products and exceptional customer service. Your role will involve cutting meat to meet customer specifications, maintaining product safety and cleanliness, and supporting the Meat Lead while fostering a positive team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Cut meat into smaller sizes for sale and customer orders
  • Answer customer questions and fulfill special orders
  • Rotate products and check code dates for safety
  • Wrap and maintain the meat case
  • Provide excellent customer service in accordance with company principles
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist in preparing special orders and recording them accurately
  • Unload deliveries and maintain the efficiency of the meat cooler
  • Cultivate a culture of food knowledge and passion among team members

Required skills

  • Experience in meat cutting or completion of an apprenticeship program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Meat cutting certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety guidelines
  • Ability to handle up to 50 pounds
