Job Description

Overview

As a Maintenance Technician at Rivermont Schools, you'll play a crucial role in creating and maintaining safe and functional educational environments for students and staff. You'll be responsible for performing general repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvements to ensure the operations of the schools run smoothly every day.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections across school facilities
  • Maintain building grounds, equipment, and tools to ensure operational readiness
  • Address and resolve maintenance requests promptly to prevent safety hazards
  • Support snow removal, landscaping, and facility upkeep throughout the year
  • Travel between assigned locations to provide maintenance and facilities support as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of experience in general maintenance or repair services
  • Extensive drywall installation, repair, patching, and finishing experience
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between regional school sites
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
