Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor role at a leading wood manufacturer in South Carolina involves overseeing a team of maintenance technicians and driving the transition from reactionary to preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader with significant experience in the wood industry, committed to continuous improvement and team development.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise, inspire, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Lead the shift from reactionary maintenance to advanced preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Mentor and train associates on maintenance best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee daily maintenance workflows while ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
  • Optimize machinery performance and reduce unscheduled downtime.

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisory or management experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience within the wood industry
  • Experience managing predictive and preventive maintenance programs
  • BS degree in Engineering or Technology preferred, or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong team leadership capabilities
