Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor role at a leading manufacturer in the wood industry involves leading a team of maintenance technicians to shift the facility towards preventive maintenance practices. This position emphasizes training, development, and continuous improvement to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise, inspire, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians
  • Lead the shift from reactionary maintenance to preventive maintenance programs
  • Mentor and train associates on maintenance best practices and equipment troubleshooting
  • Oversee daily maintenance workflows while adhering to safety procedures
  • Optimize machinery performance and reduce unscheduled downtime

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisory or management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in the wood industry
  • Proven experience managing a predictive/preventive maintenance program
  • BS degree in Engineering or Technology preferred, or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong team leadership capabilities, detail-oriented and growth-minded
