Job Description

Overview

GSM Industrial is seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various industrial equipment and machinery. This role is critical for ensuring the safety and efficiency of shop and field operations in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of industrial equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on shop and field equipment
  • Repair and maintain hand and power tools
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records
  • Purchase parts and materials needed for repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs
  • Assist with fabrication, welding, assembly, and other shop-related activities
  • Support production teams on projects that require maintenance expertise
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (preferred)
  • Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience (preferred)
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance activities and lift up to 50 pounds
