Overview

Friedman Industries is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at their Granite City steel processing facility. This role encompasses equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, budgeting, and leading a maintenance team, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop maintenance personnel
  • Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Drive equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Support production through effective maintenance planning
  • Manage maintenance budgets and spare parts inventory
  • Lead equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Coordinate maintenance contractors and vendors
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Experience leading maintenance technicians and contractors
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • CMRP or other maintenance-related certifications
