Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the Maintenance Department in a food manufacturing facility, ensuring plant equipment and facilities operate at peak efficiency. This role involves leading preventive maintenance efforts, staff management, and collaborating with engineering to optimize plant performance while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and lead the Maintenance Department efforts
  • Implement and manage the preventive maintenance program
  • Evaluate technical situations and prioritize projects and tasks
  • Manage spare parts and maintenance supplies
  • Schedule maintenance personnel and monitor labor costs
  • Coordinate with Engineering on equipment modifications and facility improvements
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Conduct yearly evaluations and manage personnel matters

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing and facilities maintenance leadership
  • Proficiency with PLCs
  • High speed canning or bottling experience
  • Union experience preferred
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and sanitation compliance
