Overview

R.L. Klein & Associates Inc. is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide healthcare services in a correctional facility in Chowchilla, California. The role requires current clinical competencies and a valid California LVN license, with a focus on delivering direct patient care under the direction of the Institution's leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize, provide, and maintain necessary healthcare services consistent with CCHCS policies and procedures
  • Conduct basic hygiene and nursing care, including administration of prescribed medications
  • Collect information regarding patient status and report to the Primary Care Provider (PCP) or RN
  • Provide patient/youth education and document care accurately
  • Administer and assist with therapeutic measures and treatments
  • Clean and maintain medical equipment
  • Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing as ordered
  • Assist the RN and PCP with clinic appointments
  • Contribute to the treatment planning process with mental health professionals
  • Document nursing care and treatment provided to ensure continuity of care

Required skills

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in direct patient care in a public or private institution
  • Proficient communication skills in English
  • Clinical competencies current and compliant
  • Ability to document accurately in patient health records
  • Understanding of patient care protocols and treatment
