Overview

Friedman Industries is looking for a Laser Operator to join their manufacturing team in Granite City, Illinois. The role involves setting up and operating fiber laser equipment to produce quality parts while ensuring adherence to customer and production requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fiber laser equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload material for production runs.
  • Review work orders, drawings, and specifications for accurate processing.
  • Make program edits and machine adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect and measure completed parts to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Change consumables and perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Prepare finished parts for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.

Required skills

  • 1-3 years of CNC laser operating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with fiber laser equipment
  • Sheet metal processing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Experience with laser programming or CNC controls
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
