Overview

Metro Water Recovery in Denver, CO, seeks to hire an IP Sector Investigator I/II for its Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP). This position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulations among industrial and commercial wastewater users, contributing to the health and environment of the region. The role offers stability and flexibility within an industry-leading team.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform field surveys, surveillance, investigation, and compliance assistance related to the IPP
  • Conduct inspections of industrial and commercial facilities for compliance evaluation
  • Prepare enforcement documents and reports for regulatory agencies and Metro Management
  • Communicate complicated information verbally and in writing to various audiences
  • Work under the direction of the Industrial Pretreatment Manager to implement compliance procedures
  • Participate in safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with sampling procedures and visual inspections of wastewater facilities

Required skills

  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, and general science principles
  • Mathematics and data analysis skills
  • Experience with investigation techniques and compliance assurance
  • Knowledge of federal pretreatment regulations and industrial manufacturing practices
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and database management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license
