The Gourmet Chef at Market District plays a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Central Kitchen, focusing on food preparation, quality assurance, merchandising, and customer service while adhering to food safety standards. This position is crucial for educating associates and customers on food knowledge, enhancing profitability, and supporting the overall growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Support a culture of safety, including food safety and Team Member safety.
  • Commit to learning about food and sharing knowledge with Team Members and customers.
  • Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and provide active sampling opportunities.
  • Promote an environment that values diversity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment meeting food safety and OSHA standards.
  • Manage inventories weekly in collaboration with kitchen management.
  • Prepare food ingredients and manage business operations efficiently.
  • Assist with monthly inventory and minimize product waste.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Follow recipe and merchandising guidelines.
  • Participate in training sessions and quarterly reviews.
