Overview

TechData Service Company LLC is seeking a Formulation Scientist to join their Lead Discovery and Structural Biology Department in Alameda, California. The role involves significant expertise in molecular biology and protein purification, contributing to drug discovery projects using advanced protein expression and purification methods.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform molecular biology workflows including cloning, vector design, and sequence verification
  • Execute protein expression using BEVS/insect cell systems and E. coli
  • Conduct high-throughput small scale expression testing for rapid screening
  • Purify recombinant proteins using standard chromatographic techniques
  • Optimize expression constructs and purification workflows
  • Perform analytical characterization such as SDS PAGE and Western blotting
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and communicate results clearly
  • Adhere to laboratory safety policies and organizational compliance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience or Master's degree with 1+ year of experience
  • Strong molecular biology and cloning expertise
  • Track record of protein expression in BEVS/insect and E. coli systems
  • Proficiency in chromatographic purification and method development
  • Experience with biophysical characterization techniques is preferred
