Overview

The Engineering Change Order (ECO) Coordinator/Drafter II at FEI-Zyfer is responsible for performing standard drafting assignments, making adjustments in drawings, and managing engineering changes through the approval and release cycle. The role involves creating technical drawings for components and assemblies, verifying the accuracy of completed work, and chairing Change Control Board meetings.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform standard drafting assignments based on work orders
  • Make adjustments in drawings or specifications
  • Prepare working plans and detailed mechanical or electrical drawings
  • Manage engineering changes through the approval and release cycle
  • Chair the weekly Change Control Board meeting
  • Create assemblies and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Check drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) for correctness
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a CAD drafting environment using PLM systems
  • 3 to 5 years of experience creating assembly drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Familiarity with Arena PLM/Empower systems
  • Knowledge of IPC standards
