Overview

The Engineering Change Order (ECO) Coordinator/Drafter II at FEI-Zyfer is responsible for performing standard drafting assignments and managing engineering changes through an approval and release cycle. This role involves creating and verifying detailed mechanical and electrical drawings using CAD tools, while collaborating with engineers and the manufacturing team.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage engineering changes (ECO) through the approval and release cycle.
  • Chair the weekly Change Control Board (CCB) meeting.
  • Create assemblies and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Check drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) for correctness.
  • Prepare working plans and detailed drawings from notes and sketches.
  • Perform other drafting duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a CAD drafting environment
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software
  • Experience creating assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with PLM systems
  • Knowledge of IPC standards
