Job Description

Overview

The Driver at S.P. Richards Company is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and retrieval of office products during overnight routes. The role requires adherence to DOT safety standards and providing excellent customer service while managing delivery logistics.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections of the delivery vehicle
  • Maintain an electronic delivery log for route navigation and DOT compliance
  • Unload and pick up orders at designated delivery sites
  • Handle hazardous materials and adhere to safety rules
  • Record returns and customer paperwork accurately
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers

Required skills

  • Valid commercial driver's license class A
  • Two years of driving experience
  • Clean three-year motor vehicle history
  • Attention to detail for reading product numbers and codes
  • Ability to operate delivery equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
  • Experience with Roadnet system preferred
  • Familiarity with tablets or ELDs for electronic logging
