Overview

The Director of Human Resources at Astound is responsible for managing the employee relations strategy and ensuring a compliant and positive workplace culture. This role requires collaboration with HR leadership, business leaders, and legal counsel to address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and promote organizational engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and implement the employee relations strategy aligned with business goals
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations issues
  • Monitor workplace trends to identify risks and opportunities for culture enhancement
  • Oversee resolution of employee relations matters, including conflicts and policy violations
  • Lead internal investigations ensuring compliance and fairness
  • Enforce employee relations policies in line with labor laws
  • Provide training to leaders on conflict resolution and performance management
  • Track and analyze employee relations metrics for improvement opportunities
  • Drive initiatives promoting employee trust and workplace inclusion
  • Guide change management and communication strategies impacting employees

Required skills

  • 10 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee relations
  • 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience leading investigations and resolving complex employee issues
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend strategic solutions
  • Emotional intelligence and confidentiality
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Organizational and project management abilities
  • Ability to balance business needs with employee advocacy
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (Master's preferred)
  • HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar) preferred
