Overview

EcoSouth Florida LLC is seeking an analytical diesel mechanic to join their repair shop in Sarasota, Florida. The role involves inspecting and repairing vehicles while providing excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance histories.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicles' mechanical issues in collaboration with supervisors and fellow mechanics
  • Encourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes and brake replacements
  • Prepare estimates, timelines, and necessary documentation for repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of customer repairs and vehicle maintenance history
  • Perform system inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine necessary repairs
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety standards
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns

Required skills

  • Experience with hand tools and automotive repair equipment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree or vocational training preferred
  • ASE certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
