Overview

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Norwich, Connecticut, to ensure a safe and reliable fleet through preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment. This role offers an opportunity to build a rewarding career within a leading foodservice company known for promoting from within and providing extensive training.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards
  • Complete repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers
  • Assist senior technicians with repairs
  • Document equipment repairs and parts used using a fleet maintenance system tablet
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assume increased responsibilities and certifications as required

Required skills

  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic
  • Furnish own personal hand tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Preferred: Valid Class A CDL license, DOT certification, experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system, welding abilit
