Overview

Republic Services is seeking a Diesel Maintenance Technician B in Boone, North Carolina. This role involves performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including various vehicle systems and components. Technicians will work under supervision while handling basic inspections and repairs, contributing to a stable and rewarding career in the environmental services industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks
  • Maintain and repair chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, and control systems
  • Conduct preventative and repair maintenance functions on-site and on the road
  • Provide road service and ensure equipment is returned to operation safely
  • Utilize electronic tools to diagnose malfunctions
  • Complete applicable Company training programs
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics and preventative maintenance
  • Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to diagnose multi-system issues
  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technician position with gasoline and diesel equipment
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) preferred but not required
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred but not required
