Overview

Moalej Builders, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator specialized in Public Works, Education, and infrastructure projects. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates and collaborating with project teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, contributing to impactful community developments.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for multiple projects
  • Participate in Pre-Bid meetings to understand client needs
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop budgets and schedules
  • Conduct scope-of-work evaluations and analyze subcontractor quotations
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize costs
  • Issue Requests for Information (RFI's) during the bidding phase
  • Evaluate market conditions and analyze competition for estimates
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation
  • Support project management teams with accurate cost data

Required skills

  • Proven experience in construction estimating within public works or education sectors
  • Strong proficiency with project estimating and management software
  • Solid understanding of construction management principles and cost control practices
  • Hands-on construction site experience
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of regulations and bidding procedures related to public infrastructure
  • Ability to analyze complex drawings and technical documents
