Job Description

Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer at Amazon Data Services, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center infrastructure. This position involves collaborating with diverse teams to ensure the operational quality of critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight for AWS data center infrastructure.
  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors for onsite testing.
  • Develop and review commissioning documentation including test plans and reports.
  • Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements.
  • Perform system level and integrated system testing.
  • Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Provide regular status updates on ongoing projects.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Technical competency in mechanical, electrical, or control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical design documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience developing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems.
