Job Description

Overview

The Commercial Lending Operations Specialist at BrightStar Credit Union is responsible for supporting the Commercial Lending Department through loan processing, post-closing administration, servicing coordination, and operational support functions. This role serves as a key liaison between members, underwriting, internal departments, and external partners to ensure the timely and efficient management of commercial loan files throughout the loan lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers during the loan application and processing phase.
  • Collect, organize, and review financial statements and other underwriting requirements.
  • Coordinate with members, brokers, associates, and third parties to resolve loan file deficiencies.
  • Prepare and submit complete loan packages to underwriting.
  • Track loan status and maintain communication with borrowers and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up on post-closing items and prepare servicing-related correspondence.
  • Coordinate servicing requests and maintain loan documentation according to policies.
  • Assist with commercial loan system maintenance and departmental workflow initiatives.
  • Coordinate outreach for annual financial statement collection from borrowers.
  • Support participation loan sales and maintain communication with partner institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

  • Prior experience in commercial lending, loan servicing, or banking operations preferred.
