Overview

The CNC Machine Operator at Harken / SMC in Ferndale, Washington, is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery, ensuring precision and quality in manufacturing mountaineering and rescue equipment. Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Vertical CNC and Swiss Lathe Machines
  • Run routine programs and perform machining operations to meet specifications
  • Read and interpret detailed part drawings and blueprints
  • Monitor machine performance and report variations
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect and verify parts
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards

Required skills

  • 2 years of CNC mill setup experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with machine shop practices and machining techniques
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
