Overview

Vee-Jay Cement Contracting Company Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Carpenter to join their team in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role involves performing various carpentry tasks related to the preparation, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete structures, while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and understand drawings and prints
  • Build and assemble wood or metal forms for concrete construction
  • Set and place forms accurately at proper elevations
  • Erect forms using a variety of materials and systems
  • Verify structural accuracy using tools like plumb bob and level
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for above-ground assembly
  • Communicate with project supervisors regarding issues and safety
  • Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition
  • Assist in concrete placement as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties
