Job Description

Overview

The Carpenter at Freeland Ventures is responsible for performing apartment unit turns, which involve a variety of carpentry and maintenance tasks. This includes both rough and finish carpentry, as well as assistance with various construction projects, ensuring properties are maintained and in good working order.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine repair work and remodeling of existing units
  • Replace and repair walls, flooring, cabinets, tubs, and other areas
  • Ensure construction materials and tools are delivered and installed correctly
  • Adhere to applicable safety and building codes
  • Participate in safety training and maintain a safe work environment
  • Respond to emergency repair requests, including after-hours or weekend work
  • Document carpentry and repair work completed
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and tools

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or construction
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings and manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
