Job Description

Overview

As a Cable Service Technician at Madison Telecommunications Inc, you will be responsible for installing and servicing telephone, security, video, and internet systems, as well as troubleshooting issues and educating customers. This role requires local travel within a daily commuting distance, and adherence to safety protocols and company standards is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Install residential and commercial cable systems according to company and industry standards
  • Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and effectively
  • Educate customers on product usage and address their needs
  • Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate with Dispatch on job status, arrivals, and delays
  • Maintain tools and vehicles, reporting any maintenance issues
  • Participate in technical development training and certification
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety rules

Required skills

  • Strong understanding of cable systems and installation techniques
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot CATV technical difficulties
  • Basic math, computer, and troubleshooting skills
  • Time management and adaptability in various environments
  • Fluency in English (speaking and understanding)
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
