Overview

GeoStabilization International (GSI) is seeking a Business Development Manager focused on geotechnical construction, playing a pivotal role in translating engineering solutions into strategic business opportunities. This remote position involves supporting clients and projects primarily in the Midwest, with significant emphasis on developing innovative and effective geohazard mitigation strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of geohazard mitigation solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Manage engineering and estimating during project pursuits, including means and methods.
  • Serve as Design Manager on complex projects, directing analysis and plans.
  • Coordinate additional site visits and data collection as needed.
  • Support construction with on-site validations to align design and field realities.
  • Partner with Project Development Engineers for decision-making on project pursuits.
  • Contribute to regional commercial strategies and pricing logic.
  • Draft and review proposals ensuring technical and contractual alignment.
  • Represent GSI at professional events, strengthening the brand's technical credibility.
  • Maintain CRM tools to assist in forecasting and decision-making.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • 1+ years in technical sales, business development, or client-facing engineering roles.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • EIT/GIT or PE/PG licensure preferred.
  • Familiarity with landslides and slope stability.
  • Experience with slope stability modeling software.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Expertise in interpreting USACE, DOT, FHWA plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of project budgeting and CPM scheduling.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
